Recursive Artist Painting Himself from Monitor

An amateur photograph from [1998] showing a middle-aged artist sitting in a studio, manually copying an image from a bulky CRT computer monitor onto an oil painting on stretched canvas. The image displayed on the monitor is a photograph of the artist in the exact same pose painting the identical recursive image, creating an infinite Droste effect. Authentic late-90s amateur snapshot aesthetics, direct flash, slight film grain, candid composition.
