Macro photograph of a handcrafted wooden stop-motion puppet of a [yakuza] character on a physical miniature film set. The puppet is hand-carved from raw, unsanded wood with visible chisel facet marks catching the light and distinct wood grain. Exposed mechanical ball-and-socket joints at shoulders, elbows, and knees, fastened with brass screws, metal washers, and eyelets, with yellow string ligatures threaded through the torso like tendons. His [irezumi chest tattoos] are pyrography woodburn engravings etched directly into the wooden chest, charred dark brown. Long ponytail made of frayed black fiber rope. Ragged, torn black suit trousers in matte real fabric drape naturally over the wooden legs. He lights a cigarette with a tiny glowing ember and a thin wisp of real smoke. The puppet stands on worn wooden stage planks against an absolute black void background. Lighting is a single hard warm tungsten key light from the side, dramatic theatrical chiaroscuro, deep shadows, and an amber rim light carving the silhouette and highlighting chisel facets. Tactile, tangible, imperfect physical stop-motion film still; no smooth CGI, no 3D render feel.
